The short version
We offer a 14-day refund on every digital template — as long as you haven't duplicated the template into your Notion workspace, opened the spreadsheet, or accessed the downloadable file yet.
Because every Instant File Co product is a digital file you keep forever the moment you access it, we can't take it back once it's in your workspace. That's why our refund policy is tied to whether or not you've actually used the product yet.
How it works
- You buy a template. You get an email with a branded PDF in under 60 seconds.
- The PDF has a gold button that duplicates the template into your Notion workspace, opens the spreadsheet, or grants access to the file.
- Before you click that button — you can request a refund within 14 days, no questions asked.
- After you click that button — the product is yours forever, and the sale is final.
If you change your mind before you've duplicated or opened anything, email Craig directly at craig@instantfileco.com with your order number and we'll refund you in full within 3 business days. No 47-question survey. No retention pitch. No hoops.
Why the policy works this way
Digital templates are different from physical products. Once a Notion workspace is duplicated into your account, or a spreadsheet is downloaded, or an eBook PDF is on your device — we can't take it back. You keep it forever. Standard "no questions asked" refund policies on digital products end up being a tax that honest customers pay for the people who copy a $79 template and ask for their money back the same day.
We'd rather give you a fair, honest policy than pretend.
What if I have a problem with the template after I've duplicated it?
We don't refund duplicated templates, but we will always help you make the product work. Email Craig directly — real human, real reply, within one business day. If we shipped something genuinely broken or misleading, we'll make it right.
We've issued goodwill refunds on duplicated templates exactly when something didn't deliver what we promised. That's case-by-case and not part of the public policy — but if you have a real problem, we want to hear about it.
What if I never received my email?
Check spam and promotions folders first. If it's still not there within 5 minutes, email craig@instantfileco.com with your order number — we'll resend access within one business day. (This is a delivery issue, not a refund situation.)
What if the duplicate link doesn't work?
The most common cause: you're not logged into Notion. Sign up at notion.so (free) and click the button again. If that still doesn't work, email Craig with your order number and we'll send a direct duplicate link. (This is a delivery issue, not a refund situation.)
What about subscriptions?
We don't sell subscriptions. Every Instant File Co product is one-time payment, lifetime updates. You buy it, you own it. Nothing renews.
EU / UK buyers
Under EU/UK consumer protection law, buyers of digital content typically waive the standard 14-day right of withdrawal at the moment they begin downloading or accessing the digital content. By clicking the duplicate button in your delivery PDF, you confirm that you've started using the digital content and waive that right. This is the same standard the European Commission applies to digital downloads.
Chargebacks
Please email us first. We respond within one business day. Filing a chargeback before contacting us means the bank's process takes over — which costs us a fee and prevents us from making it right faster.
